Kia ora koutou,

My name is Morgan Bunny and I would like to be elected as a Parent Trustee. I am originally from Palmerston North and have lived in the Wairarapa for 11 years. I moved here to begin my teaching career and it is here in the Wairarapa that I met and married my husband. We have three children, two of whom are members of the Brigidine syndicate.

I studied at Massey University where I completed a Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Secondary teaching. I am currently a Year 7 and 8 classroom teacher and the teacher in charge of PE/Health at Masterton Intermediate School. Prior to working at MIS I taught for a number of years at Chanel College. At Chanel College I was Head of Health and alongside Health I taught PE, Sports studies, Art and Religious studies.

I am passionate about education and the well-being of our young people. I believe in the need for all children to be provided with a wide range of learning opportunities and experiences that enable them to feel empowered, engaged and learn at their own pace. I see being a parent representative on the Board of Trustees as a way that I can give back to the St Patrick’s school community.

Regards,

Morgan Bunny

Jennifer Martin
Elected

My name is Jennifer Martin and I am standing for the Board of Trustees for St Patrick's School.

I am the mother of three children - Flynn in Year 2, and twins Nate and Sienna who started St Patrick's this year.

My children have had a wonderful start at St Patrick's School and I have been very impressed with what St Patrick's offers it's students. If elected to the Board of Trustees, I am committed to ensuring that this high standard continues for our children.

I am a Chartered Accountant working for Lawson Avery Limited in Masterton. I qualified 8 years ago, and have since worked in various roles. In my current role i'm responsible for managing a number of local clients as well as being the firm's cloud software specialist.

I believe I can offer significant experience and expertise as a member of the Board. I possess a broad range of skills relevant to school trusteeship, in particular finance and communication skills.

James O'Connor
Elected

My name is James O’Connor and I am standing for St Patricks School (Masterton) School Board.

I was appointed to the Board as a parent representative in November 2014 after responding to an advertised vacancy and I am seeking re-election. I was appointed as Deputy Chair in February 2017 and have been Chair since February 2018. I am currently on the Leadership Team of a large beekeeping company where I am Head of Field Operations. My role requires both a strategic and operational focus which allows me to gain a big picture view of the business. My varying career has meant I have brought a number of strengths to the Board with a particular focus on strategy development; financial management; and operations management. While on the Board I have been involved with Board sub-committees that have made improvements to governance with regard to finances; human resources; and health & safety. Along with the St Patricks School Management Team, the Board have helped ensure good outcomes have been achieved in numerous aspects of the school. In particular with regard to the Education Review Office (ERO) visits; and the Catholic Character Review Board visits. My previous work experience includes Senior Management and over 15 years in project management across a number of industries including health; shipping; NZ Defence; and tertiary education. I have twin daughters in Year 6 at St Patricks and my son is in Year 3, so I have a vested interest in ensuring strong governance continues at St Patricks. My wife is a qualified Early Childhood teacher, so our family lives and breathes education. I believe I can continue to make a significant contribution to the governance of St Patricks School and am excited about the future of the school as it goes from strength to strength.
